What are the Lifelong Guidelines? The Lifelong Guidelines are 5 basic skills that we use to achieve our greatest potential at school and at home. They are:
  • Trustworthiness
  • Truthfulness
  • Active Listening
  • No Put-Downs
  • Personal Best
In order to achieve our Personal Best we must also follow the Life Skills. What are the Life Skills?
  • Caring
  • Common Sense
  • Cooperation
  • Courage
  • Curiosity
  • Effort
  • Flexibility
  • Friendship
  • Initiative
  • Integrity
  • Organization
  • Patience
  • Perseverance
  • Pride
  • Problem Solving
  • Resourcefulness
  • Responsibility
  • Sense of Humor
Why Teach the Life Skills? At Bridges we believe it is important to emphasize these skills in order to build successful learners and happy students! We begin our days in multi-age Community Groups that focus on one skill or guideline a week. This helps us to build friendships across grades and serves as way to help each to use the Life Skills and Guidelines in all settings.
