WELCOME To the 2014-15 school year!  This is an exciting year for Bridges.  The sixth grade has moved to Garfield and there are TWO kindergarten classes.  Bridges begins the transition process.  For the 2016-17 school year, Bridges will have a new home in the present Garfield building.

Bridges Advisory Committee (BAC) is composed of all parents or guardians of Bridges Community School students who wish to support Bridges Community School. We would like to extend a warm welcome to your family. We encourage you to take an active role in your child’s education, build relationships within the Bridges community, and make your voice heard through BAC meetings and activities. BAC reaches out to coordinate volunteers to meet the school’s need for active parent involvement in the classrooms and school related events. Additionally, BAC provides unique fundraising opportunities throughout the year.

The funds that BAC raises are used in a variety of ways including:  reducing costs for families to participage in "Being There Experiences", fun family activities, and community building activities.  BAC makes a bulk purchase of school supplies each fall.  Families "purchase" their share of the school supplies from BAC at the start of the year without the usual stress of back to school shopping.  This purchase also provides healthy snacks for all students throughout the year.  Funds raised by BACare are also used to aid teachers in further developing their skills at conferences or workshops.  BAC has made a commitment to assure technology is updated on a routine basis, with a goal of every four year dedication.
